GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

 

[This is a one-time bursary award of $400,000.00 GYD to selected students graduating from the Bishops’ High School, Georgetown, Guyana. Attending a College, University, Professional Program, or Technical School]

 

1. *Successful completion a minimum of ten subjects excluding the double award subjects, with Grades 1 and 2 passes at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) level of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) examinations.

2. High school resume including course work, in-school and extracurricular activities.

3. Three hundred (300) word essay detailing your long-term educational goals, specific financial hardship, and what unique qualities make you a candidate for this award. 

4. Acceptance letter from the institution.

5. Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one letter must be from a school official (faculty or staff). Letters of recommendation must be written on organization letterhead or have a complete return address. All letters must be signed and include the writer’s title, if applicable.

6. Application Form must be reviewed and verified with signature and school stamp by the headmistress or her designee.

*In view of the information received that CXCE scores are not available until the end of August, a tentative determination will be made based on coursework verified by the headmistress or designee. The final determination will be confirmed upon the receipt of the CXCE scores.
